We will cover everything in more detail on your onboarding call, but this guide gives you a clear reference for setup, the conversation, and what happens after we record. My team and I are here every step of the way.
Who's listening, and why it's worth showing up.
The #1 senior living marketing and sales podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, published bi-weekly, powered by CCR Growth. We go beyond surface-level conversation into the frameworks, patterns, and operational realities that senior living leaders actually need. Every guest has earned something worth sharing, and this is the show where they say it.

Five steps from intake to launch.
Helps us build a conversation around your real expertise.
One call that does two things: we build the episode direction together so you know exactly what to expect, and we run the tech check — audio, video, and lighting — so there are no surprises on recording day.
These shape the conversation before recording day. Not a script, just a starting point. You will typically receive them 7 days prior to the interview.
We use Riverside.fm — browser-based, so no download is needed on desktop, and your unique link is sent in advance. Before your session you can check the system requirements and run a quick connectivity test. On mobile, download the Riverside app before your session.
Your assets arrive 4 weeks before air, then we drop the full episode together.
Your episode is recorded in full HD. Use this as a reference to make sure your recording is the best quality possible.
Use Chrome or Edge. Riverside.fm does not fully support Safari or Firefox. Click your guest link and allow camera and microphone access when prompted — no account or download needed on desktop.
Close unnecessary tabs and apps before joining. Please do not record in a private or incognito window.
For the full picture, see the Riverside system requirements (browser, processor, storage, connection), and run their connectivity test before recording day.
Eye level is non-negotiable — elevate your laptop if needed. Looking down reads as poor production regardless of camera spec. People connect more when they can see your eyes, so make continuous eye contact with your device. That device is essentially the audience.
BestExternal 1080p or 4K webcam (Logitech Brio 4K is a reliable reference standard).
MaciPhone 12 or newer as a webcam via Continuity Camera. iPhone 14+ for best results.
Mobile (landscape): If recording from a phone, keep it horizontal. Portrait mode degrades video quality and creates problems for our editing process.
Sit facing a window. Natural front-facing light is the simplest, most effective setup.
No window? Use a ring light or LED panel positioned in front of you at eye level.
AvoidWindows or bright light behind you (creates a silhouette), and overhead-only lighting (creates shadows).
BestUSB condenser microphone, 8–12 inches from your mouth (Blue Yeti, Rode NT-USB, Audio-Technica AT2020).
GoodWired earbuds with an inline microphone that reliably prevent echo.
AvoidLaptop built-in microphone alone, or speakerphone mode.
Quiet room, door closed. Soft furnishings reduce echo more than any equipment upgrade.
Professional background. Bookshelf, plain wall, or branded backdrop — nothing cluttered or busy.
Minimum 5 Mbps upload. Ethernet preferred. Test at fast.com before your session if unsure.
Dress as you would for a keynote or executive panel. Solid colors read best; avoid busy patterns, fine stripes, or heavy texture, which can distort on camera. A well-fitted blazer or smart top in a mid-tone works for most backgrounds. Community-branded outfits are welcome.
Hair and makeup: camera-ready, not event-ready. Soft, even coverage reads better than strong contrast. A light matte finish reduces shine. Keep hair neat and away from your face.
Check your look in-camera before the session. What looks fine in a mirror can read differently on screen. Preview in Chrome or your webcam app for shine, background clash, and framing.
Virtual background: Apply it while you're still in the Green Room (lobby). Riverside does not allow you to change or add one once you enter the live studio with the host.
A real conversation between practitioners, not a press interview. Jerry will guide the session. Here's how to come ready.
What structural insight do you want operators to walk away with? Frame your ideas around it.
Real examples beat general claims every time. Think of a situation, a number, a decision that illustrates your point.
Review the questions in advance, but don't write out full answers. The best episodes sound like two people working something through — natural conversation between two operators. Our audience can tell the difference.
The episodes that perform best are the ones where both sides show up after the conversation ends. We produce and distribute everything on our side — the video, the newsletter, the social posts, the media kit — for every episode without exception. What we cannot do is replace the reach of your own network.
The pattern is clear: guests who share their episode and engage with our posts see far stronger reach and inbound attention. Guests who don't engage often see flatter results — not because the episode is weaker, but because distribution is half of what it could be. This is about making sure your expertise reaches the people who can act on it.
Guests who show up for their episode consistently report new speaking invitations, client introductions, and connection requests tied directly to their content. Your episode keeps compounding, if you give it room to work.
Your timeline from recording day to launch and beyond.
Two people will guide you through the whole process.
